We are a small family-run commercial farm and hazelnut producers in Alba, Piedmont, established after long-term experience in the pastry-making industry. In the 1960s, Renato, little more than a teenager, began to work in a historic pastry shop in the centre of Alba, in Piedmont, and learned the secrets of the art. After a few years he met Franca who began to work at the same place, and they soon decided to open a small pastry shop of their own.
They moved to Arguello in the heart of the Upper Langhe area in the 1990s and started a commercial farm where they turn hazelnuts into delicious products to this day.
Their daughter Elisa decided to follow in their footsteps in recent years and learn this trade. She quickly learned that it required great sacrifice but gives great satisfaction.
Due to a wheat allergy, we had to reinvent ourselves and began to specialise in the production of gluten and dairy-free pastries and desserts. White flour has been replaced by many tasty hazelnuts and we got rid of butter and milk to obtain products with a true taste of hazelnut from the Langhe.
We three make up Le Bancarelle di Elisa: Renato, Franca and Elisa. No other staff or team members, just our family.
